Lear Corporation in Matamoros, Mexico is seeking a QA/Quality Engineer focused on process validation, PPAP, and compliance with design requirements and manufacturing processes. You will drive quality improvements across tooling, documentation, and inspection strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and at least 1 year of APQP exposure in automotive wire harness environments, with bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience with APQP in the automotive wire harness industry.
  • Advanced English (bilingual) required.

Responsabilidades

  • Release tooling and equipment for the full production line.
  • Review and follow up on PPAP packages and customer reviews.
  • Request PSW and IMDS approvals until 100% approved.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Perform analyses, CTQs, gauges, etc., and complete launch documentation packages.
  • Establish inspection methods and monitor quality performance with the customer.
  • Maintain Lear and customer systems (Profile, GQTS, CQMS, SQMS).
  • Define harness characteristics based on customer requirements, DFMEA, and control plans.
  • Define the inspection system for each production line (self-inspections, progressive, etc.).
  • Ensure lessons learned are applied during projects and changes.
  • Comply with biosafety measures and COVID-19 protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment with 5S principles.
  • Follow IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 audits.

Job Description

Monitor the quality system with a preventive approach to validation and strict compliance with design requirements, manufacturing processes and products, as well as engineering activities, program launches, and product transfers, in order to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Release tooling and equipment for the entire production line, from pre-assembly operations to post-operation equipment. Applicable from prototype phases through engineering changes.
  • Review and follow up on the PPAP package, conduct customer reviews based on specific requirements, and plan documentation for each phase or engineering change.
  • Request and follow up on PSW and IMDS approvals for components until all are 100% approved.
  • Read and interpret drawings and/or specifications.
  • Perform analyses, CTQs, gauge plans, etc., and complete launch documentation packages.
  • Establish inspection methods and monitor quality performance with the customer throughout the different phases.
  • Maintain and update Lear and customer systems, including Profile, GQTS, CQMS, and SQMS.
  • Define the harness special characteristics based on customer requirements, DFMEA, historical phase data, and update and develop control plans.
  • Define the inspection system for each production line, including self-inspections, progressive inspections, successive inspections, and visual aids.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of all lessons learned during project phases and engineering changes.
  • Comply with assigned activities related to biosafety measures and COVID-19 protocols.
  • Maintain a better organized, orderly, and cleaner work environment through the application of 5S principles.
  • Follow up on IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 activities, and internal and external audits.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
