ALSTOM Gruppe in Milano Fiorenza Depot seeks a Train Operation Support Engineer to provide real-time technical support to train drivers and operations teams, coordinate with the control room to monitor systems remotely, and respond to operational anomalies. You will troubleshoot and diagnose issues, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs.

Educational requirements include a technical engineering degree or proven railway experience.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; able to work under pressure.
• Good knowledge of business analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and related data analysis platforms.

Job Title:Train Operation Support Engineer

Purpose of the Job:

Provide real-time technical support to train drivers and operations teams in case of faults during service

Coordinate with Alstom control room to monitor train systems remotely and respond promptly to operational anomalies

Coordinate with traffic control and fleet management to manage train availability and service recovery

Provide clear and accurate instructions or guidance based on established protocols and procedures

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to railway equipment providing timely solutions and support to the off-site technical interventions

Prepare detailed reports and documentation of off-site maintenance activities, including findings and recommendations

Analyze incidents and support post-event investigations to determine technical causes

Collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors to support repairs and maintenance work

Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous imp rovement initiatives

Conduct field inspections special checks and assessments of rolling stock

• Review fleet failures, downtime reports and equipment histories to uncover reoccurring operation problems. As appropriate he will utilize continuous improvement tools to identify root cause and work to implement a solution helping the Reliability Growth team.

Educational Requirements:

• Technical Diploma or Degree in Engineering (preferably, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) or proven experience in railway maintenance and operation

Technical Knowledge / Experience

• Experience in Train Monitoring System development or validation or commissioning
• Experience at system level in Railway industries or big industrial plant (Power, naval...)
• Good knowledge of business analytics tool such as Tableau, powerBI...
• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure
• Experience in customer service or technical support, preferably in a transportation or railway environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in railway operations
• Data driven (makes objective decisions based on data/ facts and speaks with data)

Job Location / Mobility Requirements

• The job will be based in Milano Fiorenza Depot organized on a 7-day weekly shift basis and is responsible for providing on-call support through a rotating shift pattern.
