Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for energy and infrastructure, is hiring a Sustainable Infrastructure Procurement Manager in Milan. You will lead procurement for the Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line, oversee tendering activities, and drive supplier strategy while coordinating with the Supply Chain Function.

The role requires international project exposure and strong English proficiency.

Competenze

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Economics is required.
• At least 5 years of procurement management experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Proficiency with MS Office and procurement/ER platforms (SAP, SAP Ariba Sourcing, Synergo, JAGGAER).

Mansioni

• Oversee procurement activities for new tenders within Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line, including cost-estimating, bidding, risk assessment and staffing needs.
• Supervise procurement for in-flight projects, represent Saipem in Procurement Technical Committees, support staffing and critical issue resolution.
• Assist in building up the procurement organization with recruiting, training and mentoring aligned to strategic objectives.
• Help define and implement standard tools and methodologies to support procurement activities in a continuous improvement framework.
• Manage vendors and expand supplier lists through market scouting and lessons learned from projects.

Purpose of the position: As Procurement Manager for Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line (Corporate), you will respond to the Sustainable Infrastructure Supply Chain Business Partner and be part of the Supply Chain Function and lead a team of people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Procurement activities in support of new tendering initiatives within the Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line, including defining the cost-estimating approach, supervising bidding activities, assessing Procurement risks, and identifying staffing requirements.
• Supervise Procurement activities for Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line projects under execution, including representing Saipem in Procurement Technical Committees, supporting project staffing, monitoring and addressing critical issues, and contributing to key decisions on critical scopes of work.
• Support the Supply Chain Business Partner in setting up and further developing the Procurement organization, including recruiting, training and mentoring activities, in line with the Sustainable Infrastructure Business Line's strategic objectives.
• Support the Supply Chain Business Partner in defining and implementing standard operating tools and methodologies to support functional activities within a continuous improvement framework.
• Support the Supply Chain Business Partner in managing vendors and expanding vendor lists, including through market scouting activities, while leveraging lessons learned and feedback from projects under execution.

What are we looking for?

• Education: Master's Degree/bachelor's degree in: Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering) or Economics.
• Experience: a minimum of 5 years' experience as Procurement Manager and extensive procurement experience in major infrastructure projects, preferably railway and metro initiatives in Italy.
• Languages: good proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Technical/IT Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with industry-standard procurement and enterprise management platforms (e.g., SAP, SAP Ariba Sourcing, Synergo, JAGGAER, etc.).

The role will be based in Milan and you will have the opportunity to travel occasionally to project sites, both in Italy and abroad.
