Saipem, a global engineering and construction leader, seeks an Equipment/Machinery Cost Engineer to prepare procurement cost estimates and support tendering activities. You will analyze scope, define estimating strategies, and collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure alignment with technical and contractual requirements.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in equipment/machinery engineering and a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with strong Excel skills

Competenze

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related).
• 2–5 years of equipment/machinery engineering experience.
• Advanced Excel is a nice to have.

Purpose of the position: As EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY COST ENGINEER you will be part of the ENCAR - Energy Carries, Tendering Estimating Department.

How can you support us?

Preparing Cost Estimation for Equipment/Machinery procurement based on Material Take Off received from engineering departments, defining unit cost through market inquiries and/or internal cost database, availing of Procurement department support where required.

More specifically:

• To analyze and understand the Scope of Works defined by tendering documentation, with reference to technical aspect and specifications related to Equipment.
• For specific discipline, define the estimating strategy identifying the critical procurement items that require dedicated market inquiries.
• Contribute to Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE), done by engineering departments, verifying the alignment to technical requirements and project specifications.
• Prepare Commercial bid Evaluation (CBE) verifying the alignment to contract requirements and evaluating potential cost impact of deviations.
• Review and agree with Lead Estimator the priced Material take off to be included in the cost built-up.
• Participate in cost review and cost closure meetings.

Maintain constantly updated internal material unit cost database

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate with basic experience in Equipment/Machinery engineering, able to plan and organize activities to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and continuously develop, flexible, and capable of working effectively under pressure while setting the right priorities. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple internal and external interfaces are required.

Education: Master's Degree/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar)

Background: 2-5 Years as Equipment/Machinery engineering

Technical/IT Knowledge: Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

What else should you know?

Advanced Excel user is a “nice to have”

Availability for national and abroad mobilization (missions) is required.
