HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A. in Milan is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the secondary engineering scope for substations, ensuring reliable operation from concept through commissioning.

The role requires collaboration with civil, primary, protection, and control engineers, plus development of SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. Proficiency in English and Italian is required, and a minimum of four years in substation design is expected.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 4 years of experience in secondary engineering for substations or industrial power systems, from design through commissioning
• Knowledge of protection concepts such as differential, distance, and overcurrent protection, as well as FAT and SAT processes
• Strong commitment to safety and workplace health and safety practices, combined with curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies
• Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and knowledge of power systems, renewable energy, and transmission systems
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Italian is required. Additional language skills are considered an advantage.

Mansioni

• Lead and coordinate the secondary (electrical design) scope, ensuring the integrity and reliable operation of substation systems from concept through implementation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across internal and external teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
• Prepare, review, and validate technical specifications, equipment selections, and key engineering deliverables such as SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Develop and verify protection and control schemes, perform engineering calculations, and support FAT and SAT activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, grid codes, and Hitachi Energy quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate closely with civil, primary, protection, and control engineers to ensure seamless interfaces, constructability, and efficient cable routing.
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders on all secondary engineering matters.
• Support project execution by assessing scope changes, managing risks and opportunities, and contributing to scheduling and change management activities.
• Contribute to tendering activities by preparing engineering estimates, coordinating technical documentation, and performing risk assessments.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and customer handover while building trusted relationships and driving continuous improvement through lessons learned.
