Hitachi Energy in Milan is seeking a senior engineer to lead GIS/AIS project activities within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service unit. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and operations to deliver safe, reliable grid solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical/Energy/Mechanical Engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience in GIS/AIS and EPC power plants, with strong English and Italian communication, and a

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Energy/Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in GIS (gas insulated switchgear) and/or AIS (air insulated switchgear) and/or EPC power plants.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage projects and people.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork and problem solving.
Proficiency in English and Italian, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques for conventional projects with limited complexity.
Acting as design authority for a specific engineering discipline.
Collaborating on project installation, commissioning and site activities with issue clarification and technical support.
Assisting in creating proposals and performing risk analysis before submission.
Overseeing subcontract creation and management with supply chain involvement.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Leading and coordinating small engineering teams on low‑complexity projects.
