Job summary

European Tech Recruit seeks an experienced Solutions Architect in Italy to lead technical design and pre-sales for industrial automation projects across Italy and Europe.

You will translate customer needs into end-to-end control architectures, develop proposals and lead technical discussions with stakeholders, while collaborating with engineering and product teams to ensure feasible and competitive solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in industrial automation or OT/IT integration.
• Strong understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA and industrial control architectures.
• Experience in technical solution design, systems engineering, pre-sales or solutions architecture.
• Fluency in Italian and English; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and translate them into industrial automation solutions.
• Design end-to-end architectures covering DCS, PLC, SIS and SCADA systems.
• Develop technical proposals, system designs and solution specifications.
• Lead technical presentations, workshops and product demonstrations.

The company is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect based in Italy to lead technical solution design and pre-sales activities for industrial automation projects across Italy and the wider European market.

• Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse customer requirements and translate business and technical needs into effective industrial automation solutions.
• Design end-to-end industrial control system architectures covering DCS, PLC, SIS, SCADA and associated automation technologies.
• Develop technical proposals, system architectures and solution specifications tailored to individual customer requirements.
• Lead technical presentations, customer workshops, product demonstrations and solution discussions.
• Provide technical support throughout the sales and tendering process, including bid preparation, technical clarifications and solution evaluation.
• Act as the primary technical interface between customers, sales teams, product specialists and engineering departments.
• Support the integration of industrial control systems with IT infrastructure, digital platforms and operational technology environments.
• Prepare technical documentation, system design specifications, presentations and training materials.
• Collaborate with engineering and project execution teams to ensure the proposed solutions are technically feasible and commercially competitive.
• Stay informed about industry developments, emerging automation technologies and digitalisation trends.
• RequirementsBachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in industrial automation, process control systems or OT/IT integration.
• Strong technical understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA and industrial control architectures.
• Experience in technical solution design, systems engineering, technical pre-sales or solutions architecture.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and prepare clear technical and commercial proposals.
• Knowledge of industrial networking, automation communications and system integration.
• Strong presentation, technical documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional fluency in Italian and English.
• Willingness to travel within Italy and internationally when required.
• Preferred ExperienceExperience with automation platforms from Siemens, ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider Electric or comparable vendors.
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), industrial cybersecurity or OT architectures.
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0, smart factories, industrial IoT and digital transformation technologies.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, AI applications or SaaS-based industrial solutions.
• Experience supporting customers in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Energy, Utilities or other process industries.
• Mandarin Chinese language skills would be advantageous.
