Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a Solutions Architect based in Italy to lead end-to-end industrial automation solution design for DCS, PLC, SIS, SCADA across Italy and Europe. You will translate customer needs into effective automation solutions, develop technical proposals, and lead presentations and workshops.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in industrial automation or OT/IT integration, strong stakeholder management, and fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

Job description

A leading global technology company is looking for a Solutions Architect based in Italy to lead technical solution design and pre-sales activities for industrial automation projects across Italy and the wider European market. The role focuses on end-to-end industrial control system architectures, covering DCS, PLC, SIS and SCADA, for customers in process and industrial sectors.

You will translate customer business and technical needs into effective automation solutions, develop technical proposals and solution specifications, and lead presentations, workshops and product demonstrations. You will support the sales and tendering process, act as the main technical interface between customers, sales and engineering teams, and support the integration of control systems with IT infrastructure, digital platforms and OT environments.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, process control or OT/IT integration, a background in solution design or technical pre-sales, and strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills, with professional fluency in Italian and English.

The key skills required for the Solutions Architect – Industrial Automation:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation, process control systems or OT/IT integration.
• Strong understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA and industrial control architectures.
• Experience in technical solution design, systems engineering, technical pre-sales or solutions architecture.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and prepare clear technical and commercial proposals.
• Knowledge of industrial networking, automation communications and system integration.
• Strong presentation, technical documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional fluency in Italian and English.
• Willingness to travel within Italy and internationally when required.

Preferred experience includes automation platforms from leading global vendors, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), industrial cybersecurity and OT architectures, Industry 4.0 and industrial IoT, and customers in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Energy and Utilities. Mandarin Chinese language skills would be advantageous.
