Mandarin Oriental, Rome is seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead the strategic and operational management of the hotel's procurement function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will source goods and services, foster supplier partnerships and drive cost efficiencies.

You will oversee procurement operations, negotiate favourable contracts, manage supplier performance, and lead a high-performing purchasing team to support our luxury destination open and ongoing operations.

Competenze

• 7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain within luxury hospitality or related industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing procurement operations in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with budgeting, cost control, contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies, optimise processes and deliver measurable business results.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
• Experience with procurement systems, inventory controls and hotel purchasing best practices.
• Proven ability to develop high-performing teams and foster collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Strong command of English and Italian.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.

Mansioni

• Lead all purchasing operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency and service across the hotel.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to maximise value and cost effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts and SLAs.
• Ensure competitive sourcing processes while maintaining MO quality standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, market conditions and industry trends for cost savings.
• Oversee inventory and stock control to minimise waste and optimise stock levels.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Restaurants, Bars & Experience, Rooms Division, Engineering and Finance teams.
• Drive purchasing systems, processes and controls to improve efficiency.
• Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Purchasing team.
