Lever, Inc. in Italy seeks a Senior Backend Engineer - Payments & Fintech to design and scale a canonical billing ledger and entitlement platform, working with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and auditable financial data.

You will own end-to-end subscription lifecycles, multiple payment gateways, tax requirements, and revenue reporting, while migrating from legacy systems and preserving live operations in a global, multi-entity environment.

Competenze

• 6–10 years of backend engineering with deep Go expertise.
• Proven experience rebuilding payment, subscription, billing, and ledger systems end-to-end.
• Strong understanding of financial systems including reconciliation and revenue recognition.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, or international billing is valuable.

Mansioni

• Design and implement a canonical billing and entitlement ledger with an append-only architecture.
• Own the complete subscription lifecycle across multiple payment gateways.
• Build reliable payment gateway ingestion pipelines with idempotent processing.
• Handle refunds, chargebacks, and disputes with accurate allocations.
• Create data pipelines for accounting close, revenue recognition, and tax reporting.
• Own the customer-facing billing experiences and ensure ledger alignment.
• Lead migration from legacy models with data backfills and region cutovers.
• Establish engineering practices prioritizing financial correctness, observability, and reliability.
