Job summary

TransPerfect is seeking a Language Lead to translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China) and to coordinate a team of linguists. This is a remote freelance role open to candidates worldwide.

You will act as a client-facing linguistic contact, manage quality control, and oversee language assets such as TMs, glossaries, and style guides, collaborating with Project Managers to meet client expectations and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies or equivalent with significant translation training.
• 2 years of professional translation experience with a college degree.
• 5 years translation experience without college degree; OR a government translation competence certificate.

Responsibilities

• Act as a client-facing linguistic contact representing TransPerfect professionally.
• Review client complaints, determine root causes, and provide corrective actions.
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts.
• Manage language assets (TMs, glossaries, style guides) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Translate and proofread Life Science documents for accuracy and regulatory terminology.
