Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer (Edge – Networking & Fleet) to work from Italy with a remote-first team. You will build scalable data planes, fleet management controls, and proxy infrastructure for a large residential device network.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and partner teams to tackle distributed-systems challenges in reliability, performance, and security. You will own critical components such as scheduling, fleet orchestration, and edge connectivity, across Windows,

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional Rust experience and production end-to-end service ownership.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale (schedulers, control planes, stateful services).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts including consistency and backpressure.
• Deep networking knowledge including TCP, TLS, HTTP and gRPC.
• Experience with forward proxies or residential/ISP proxy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Scale the data plane with a horizontally scalable fetch scheduler.
• Design and build the Fleet Manager control plane with inventory, health, and rollout controls.
• Develop provider integrations for onboarding additional device sources.
• Own and improve the CONNECT proxy gateway and edge session management.
• Engineer secure networking between control services and residential peers using mTLS and gRPC.
• Define and maintain SLOs for availability, latency and success rates.
• Build observability and operational metrics for device fleets and provider performance.
• Implement blue/green deployments and safe software rollouts.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident post-mortems.
