Job summary

Itinera S.p.A. in Tortona (AL) is seeking a Proposal Manager to join the Head Office Technical Department to coordinate the preparation of technical and economic bids for national and international tenders for major infrastructure works.

You will analyse tender strategies, prepare a summary with key data and budgets, define competitive solutions, schedule activities, manage costs and coordinate with partners, subcontractors and project managers.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Proposal Manager in the major infrastructure construction sector.
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Good knowledge of English.
• Excellent ability to critically analyse tender documents.
• In-depth knowledge of planning methodologies and software such as Primavera P6, MS Project and TILOS.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender strategies and the contractual, technical and economic specifics of the project, highlighting critical design issues.
• Prepare a summary sheet with key data, tender criteria and activities, contractual conditions and financial commitments, resources and risk assessment.
• Define the tender strategy with management to develop competitive technical solutions and cost efficiencies.
• Develop the schedule of tender activities, identify milestones and coordinate cross-functional alignment moments.
• Analyse direct and indirect costs of the works and document analyses in bidding software.
• Coordinate relations with consortium/Joint Venture partners and subcontractors.
• Support project management during bid reorganisation and project start-up phase.

Job description

For our headquarters in Tortona (AL) we are looking for a Proposal Manager who will join the Head Office Technical Department to coordinate the preparation of technical and economic bids for national and international tenders for major infrastructure works.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyse possible tender strategies and the contractual, technical and economic specifics of the project, highlighting any critical design issues (such as certifications, requirements, etc.);
• At the end of the preliminary analysis of the call for tenders, prepare a summary sheet with the key project data, tender criteria and activities, contractual conditions and financial commitments, resources required, initial budget and risk assessment;
• Ensure the correct definition of the tender strategy, working with management to develop competitive technical solutions and cost efficiencies;
• Develop the schedule of tender activities, identifying milestones and the resources required, and coordinating cross-functional alignment moments (Kick-Off Meetings for the most complex tenders);
• Analyse the direct and indirect costs of the works, developing and detailing all analyses in the dedicated bidding software;
• Coordinate relations with consortium/Joint Venture partners and subcontractors;
• Support, where possible during the bid reorganisation and project start-up phase, the Project Manager, the Administration Manager and the Cost Control Manager.

Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Proposal Manager in the major infrastructure construction sector;
• Degree in Civil Engineering;
• Good knowledge of English;
• Excellent ability to critically analyse tender documents;
• In-depth knowledge of planning methodologies and of software such as Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project and TILOS.

The ideal candidate also has:

• Strong results orientation, leadership, stress management and negotiation skills;
• Accuracy, punctuality and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

For this role, the successful candidate will be employed under:

• Italian National Collective Agreement for the Construction Industry (CCNL Edilizia)
• Type of contract: Permanent
• Remuneration: The initial gross annual salary for this position will be no less than €70,000.
