ABB E-mobility in Italy seeks a Manufacturing Test Engineer to support automated test methods for AC/DC and DC/DC converter stages, ensuring reliable verification of electrical performance, safety, and interfaces. You will define test coverage for power modules, participate in the full test lifecycle from prototypes to production, and industrialize test equipment with internal teams and suppliers.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Up to 3 years of experience in power electronics, electrical testing, industrial test equipment, or production test automation.
• Basic understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC converter principles, including rectification, regulation, isolation, switching, and protection functions.
• Strong interest in manufacturing test engineering, production automation, and first-pass yield improvements.
• Hands-on familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems.
• Knowledge of Python, C#, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Ability to read schematics and support test-bench integration and instrumentation.
• Structured documentation, test procedures, and traceability between requirements and results.
• Fluent English; knowledge of EV charging standards or Azure/DevOps is a plus.

• Support the development and implementation of automated manufacturing test methods for AC/DC and DC/DC converter stages, ensuring reliable verification of electrical performance, safety, isolation, efficiency, thermal behavior, protection functions, calibration data, and communication interfaces.
• Contribute to the definition of manufacturing test coverage for power modules and converter systems, ensuring compliance with product, quality, safety, and production requirements.
• Participate in the full manufacturing-test lifecycle, from prototypes to mass production release and continuous improvement.
• Translate specifications and architectures into effective production test strategies.
• Define, automate, deploy, and industrialize production test equipment, fixtures, and test benches with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Create and maintain traceability documentation linking requirements, test specs, limits, and results.
• Investigate and analyze test failures to drive corrective actions based on data.
• Collaborate with power electronics, firmware, manufacturing, quality, field service, compliance teams, labs, and suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement to increase first-pass yield and test repeatability.
