ABB E-mobility in San Giovanni Valdarno is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead the development of a shared test automation platform for EV charger validation, manufacturing, and product quality. You will design, develop, and industrialize the test toolchain used across E2E test benches and manufacturing stations.

The role emphasizes software-focused testing across hardware-in-the-loop environments, API and firmware testing, and integration with cloud services and MES.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master’s in a technical field.
• Strong software engineering experience with modern languages and test automation.
• Proven track record designing and contributing to automated test frameworks.
• Solid hands-on experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and test software deployment.
• Experience testing REST APIs, services, device interfaces, and cloud integrations.
• Understanding of manufacturing/test environments, MES integration, and traceability.
• Knowledge of test design, risk-based testing, and quality metrics.
• English fluency in written and spoken communication.

Mansioni

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automated test framework for end-to-end validation and manufacturing testing.
• Develop production-grade software for test orchestration, measurement, diagnostics, and reporting.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release gates.
• Create interfaces connecting chargers, embedded controllers, PLCs, and cloud services.
• Develop tests for APIs, firmware interfaces, and charging workflows across systems.
• Define and maintain structured test data, logs, and traceability for releases.
