ABB in Italy (Energy Management) is seeking an R&D Test Automation Engineer to validate high-quality energy management products through automated testing on real devices and lab setups. You will help build and evolve test automation that connects test benches, instruments, and hardware-in-the-loop environments, closely aligning with product validation.

This hybrid role reports to the R&D Team Lead and offers hands-on collaboration with firmware, hardware, and software teams, enabling growth in

Competenze

• Hands-on experience with automated test solutions for product-level validation on real devices.
• Ability to integrate devices under test, measurement equipment, and test benches into automated environments.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop or similar automated test setups using real hardware.
• Python programming for test automation and framework development; C#/.NET for tool integration.
• Experience with Modbus, M-Bus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, serial or similar protocols.
• Experience with test automation frameworks like pytest, TestStand, Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Experience with version control using Git or SVN.

Mansioni

• Develop, maintain, and improve automated test solutions that increase repeatability, efficiency, and coverage.
• Integrate devices under test, instruments, and test benches into HIL environments.
• Implement test automation software to control devices, run tests, collect data, manage results, and support reporting.
• Work with communication interfaces and libraries to configure products and verify behavior.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, system, and product teams across validation processes.
• Analyze test results, investigate failures, and drive improvements in coverage and documentation.
• Contribute to evolving test automation practices and data quality for real devices and labs.
