Deel is seeking an experienced payroll implementation lead to drive end-to-end global payroll projects for clients. You will oversee onboarding, define processes, configure systems, and manage go-live with strong client interaction.

This hands-on, client-facing role requires coordinating with HR and Finance, gathering requirements, and delivering on time and budget while ensuring compliance with local laws across designated locations.

In this role you drive the end-to-end implementation and data migration of Deel’s global payroll for clients. You will lead onboarding, define payroll processes, configure systems, and ensure a smooth go-live with strong client interaction. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, manage scope, and deliver on time and budget. This is a hands-on, client-facing position that shapes how customers scale payroll across multiple countries.

• Set up projects with onboarding teams and clients, creating and maintaining project plans for successful rollouts
• Manage client and internal project reviews, adjust scope and delivery timelines as needed
• Define payroll processes and data requirements, manage client payroll calendars
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans and status reports
• Configure interfaces, reports, and system settings for parallel and live payroll in initial months
• Lead go-live, sign-off, and client-specific process validation with documentation and reporting
• Communicate as primary payroll project contact; escalate issues to senior leadership as appropriate
• Oversee end-to-end implementation of global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
• Gather client requirements with HR and Finance, guiding them through technically complex onboarding
• Ensure compliance with local tax and labor laws, including data migration and security
• Develop and execute testing plans to ensure smooth system transition
• Implement change management to support employees and HR teams
• 5+ years in global payroll implementation and operations
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance for designated location
• Experience with payroll systems and software
• Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
