Major Food Group is seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. You will create and prep all pastry items, design dessert concepts, and help plan the dessert menu to complement savory dishes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in high-volume, fine-dining environments, a pastry-focused culinary diploma or equivalent, strong communication, and a team-oriented attitude. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

MFG is hiring experienced Pastry Cooks with a strong work ethic to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
• Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
• Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
• Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
• Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
• Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
• Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
• Culinary diploma with a concentration in Pastry Arts or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
• Team-orientated and positive attitude
• Strong communication skills a must
