Job summary

Bosch Italia offers a 6-month full-time curricular internship for final-year Master’s students in Embedded Systems. The role focuses on optimizing AUTOSAR code generation for memory, CPU, and code size on resource-constrained embedded platforms.

You will evaluate portability and performance across microcontrollers and work with a mentoring team of software developers. Expected to contribute through solid C programming, low-level software design insight, and collaboration in a multicultural team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in the final year of a university master's degree program.
• Strong programming skills in C.
• Good knowledge of embedded systems and computer architecture.
• Understanding of operating systems and real-time concepts.
• Analytical mindset and interest in low-level software design.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• At least B2 level of English and at least B2 Italian.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the architecture of AUTOSAR Classic code generation toolchains.
• Analyse generated AUTOSAR software and identify optimization opportunities related to memory footprint, CPU utilization and code size.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions to optimize AUTOSAR components for resource-constrained platforms.
• Define a methodology to evaluate software portability and efficiency across microcontroller architectures.
• Investigate platform-specific assumptions in generated source code and propose architectural improvements.
• Perform measurements and benchmarking to assess the impact of optimization strategies.
• Work with experienced software developers who will mentor you throughout the journey.
