Bosch in Torino is offering a 6-month full-time curricular internship for thesis work focused on optimizing AUTOSAR code generation for resource-constrained embedded architectures. You will explore portability challenges across microcontroller families and develop methods to improve efficiency.

The role targets final-year master students in Embedded Systems or related fields, requiring strong C skills, knowledge of embedded systems and RTOS concepts, and bilingual English/Italian capabilities.

Competenze

• Enrolled in the final year of a university master’s degree program.
• Strong programming skills in C.
• Good knowledge of embedded systems and computer architecture.
• Understanding of operating systems and real-time concepts.
• Analytical mindset and interest in low-level software design.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• At least B2 level of English and at least B2 Italian.

Mansioni

• Learn about the architecture of modern AUTOSAR Classic code generation toolchains.
• Analyse generated AUTOSAR software and identify optimization opportunities related to memory footprint, CPU utilization, and code size.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions demonstrating how AUTOSAR components can be optimized for resource-constrained embedded platforms.
• Define a methodology for evaluating software portability and efficiency across different microcontroller architectures.
• Investigate platform-specific assumptions in generated source code and propose architectural improvements.
• Perform measurements and benchmarking activities to assess the impact of different optimization strategies.
