Job summary

ABB seeks a Production Engineer to optimize assembly methods, processes and equipment, reducing labor hours while meeting quality, efficiency, cost, and safety goals. You will define work phase sequences for new processes to hit product cost and equipment investment targets.

This on-site role reports to the Production Engineering Manager in Italy. You will drive continuous improvement, collaborate across functions, and mentor maintenance and production teams in lean practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Production Engineering or technical diploma with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and production process optimization.
• Skilled in using ERP systems and production planning tools, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Collaborative team player, adaptable to change, and comfortable in cross-functional environments.
• Able to communicate in English and Italian with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvement opportunities within the Production organization, ensuring timeframes, quality, and cost targets.
• Approve process designs and perform final tests for projects.
• Provide support to Production during start-up and define action plans for maintenance and production resources.
• Evaluate new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction; lead testing and select external providers.
