Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Engineering Manager in Italy to optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment, reducing labor hours while aligning with quality, safety, and cost targets. You will define phase sequences for new processes and contribute to budgeting for equipment investments.

The role emphasizes implementing improvement initiatives, supporting start-up phases, and evaluating new technologies to boost productivity and reduce costs. Strong English/Italian communication is required.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Production Engineering or Technical diploma with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• You have strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and production process optimization.
• You are skilled in using ERP systems and production planning tools, with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
• You are a collaborative team player, adaptable to change, and comfortable working in cross‑functional environments.
• You are at ease communicating in both English and Italian, effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• You will optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours.
• You will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials in support of targets.
• You will define the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve cost and investment budgets.
• You will identify improvement opportunities, lead projects, and ensure timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
• You will approve process designs and perform final tests for projects.
