WeRoad is seeking a Staff/Lead Data Engineer to steer the data platform, own architecture and pipelines, and drive self-serve analytics across markets. You will work hands-on with BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow while guiding a small senior team.

You’ll report to the Director of Data Engineering & AI and partner with Data/BI, Product, and business stakeholders in a fast, remote-first environment with hybrid options in Milan.

Competenze

• 5+ years in data engineering / analytics engineering at fast-growing product companies.
• Strong SQL and hands-on with dbt, ELT tooling, and Airflow.
• Experience leading engineers and delivering data platforms at scale.

Mansioni

• Lead the Data Engineering team (1–2 engineers) and oversee delivery and growth.
• Own and evolve the data architecture: BigQuery, dbt, and semantic layer.
• Own ingestion/orchestration: Airflow, dlt, serverless CDC, reliability and quality.
• Own self-service BI tooling (Tableau/Metabase/Lightdash) for stakeholders.
• Establish data governance, quality and access controls.
• Drive AI within data pipelines and cross-team adoption.
