WeRoad is seeking a Staff/Lead Data Engineer to lead a small senior team and shape the data platform. You will own the BigQuery warehouse, dbt transformations, and data pipelines, while guiding governance and AI‑driven improvements across the org.

You’ll bridge Data, BI, Product and business stakeholders in a remote‑first, hybrid setup (Milan option). Expect a senior, hands‑on role with opportunities to influence strategy and delivery.

Competenze

• 5+ years in data engineering in fast‑growing product companies.
• Hands‑on experience building cloud data warehouses and pipelines (BigQuery a strong plus).
• Proven leadership and mentoring of engineers in small teams.
• Strong SQL, dbt, ELT/ingestion, and workflow orchestration (Airflow).
• Experience with BI dashboards and a semantic/metrics layer.
• Data governance: quality, lineage, PII, access management.

Mansioni

• Lead the Data Engineering team (1–2 engineers) on delivery and growth.
• Own and evolve the data architecture: BigQuery, dbt, and metrics layer.
• Own ingestion/orchestration stack: Airflow, dlt, serverless CDC.
• Own self‑service BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, Lightdash) and dashboards‑as‑code.
• Establish governance: data quality, lineage, documentation, access controls.
• Drive AI across the team and its adoption in data pipelines.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate priorities into a data roadmap.
