WeRoad is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a small senior team and evolve the company’s data architecture. You will implement BigQuery, dbt, and a scalable semantic layer while owning the ingestion stack and governance.

You will partner with the Data & BI teams, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver trustworthy analytics, dashboards, and AI-powered data products across markets.

Competenze

• 5+ years in data engineering / analytics engineering in fast-growing product companies, including designing and evolving cloud data warehouses and pipelines (BigQuery / GCP a strong plus).
• Experience as a manager, leading and mentoring engineers in a small, senior team.
• Strong SQL and hands-on expertise with dbt, ELT/ingestion, and Airflow.
• Experience with BI and dashboarding tools (Tableau, Metabase, Lightdash) and building a metrics layer.
• Establishing data governance — quality, lineage, documentation, PII and access management, and self-service.
• Demonstrated use of AI in data pipelines and adoption across a team.
• Fluent English; comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.

Mansioni

• Lead and grow our Data Engineering team (1–2 engineers) with delivery, quality, and career development oversight.
• Own and evolve WeRoad's data architecture: BigQuery warehouse, dbt transformation, and semantic layer.
• Own ingestion and orchestration stack – Airflow, dlt, and serverless CDC, plus reliability and observability of pipelines.
• Own the self-service BI and reporting toolkit (Tableau, Metabase, Lightdash) for stakeholder data access.
• Establish and maintain data governance: quality, lineage, documentation, PII and access controls, self-service standards.
• Drive AI across the team — AI-assisted engineering and AI data pipelines, adoption as standard practice.
• Collaborate with Director of Data Engineering & AI and stakeholders to translate company priorities into a data roadmap.
