Job summary

Hitachi Rail S.p.A. in Italy seeks a junior System Engineer to join the Rolling Stock Engineering Department in Pistoia or Napoli.

You will perform a broad range of system engineering tasks in a fast-paced environment, helping define interfaces, create requirements, and support integration activities. The role emphasizes collaboration with suppliers and customers, compliance with railway standards, and documentation for vehicle approval.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics preferred).
• Basic knowledge of system engineering and requirements management.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to work in an international, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS).
• Define and manage system interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze and assess technical documentation from Suppliers.
• Prepare and verify system installation/integration drawings/specifications.
• Conduct design reviews with internal teams and suppliers.
• Prepare Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) and Test Specifications (FTS).
• Attend system stand-alone type tests and review test reports.
• Support onboard integration, performance testing and validation phases.
• Review design documentation with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with railway regulations, standards and project constraints.
• Prepare documentation for vehicle approval and support homologation.
