Job summary

Minor Hotels Europe & Americas is seeking a Cook for Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The role covers mise-en-place, cooking, and plating to deliver high-quality dishes and guest experiences in a luxury hotel setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of kitchen experience, vocational hospitality training, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Fluency in the local language is required; English is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience as a Kitchen Assistant, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity.
• Vocational training on hospitality/F&B/kitchen.
• Fluency in local language is a must and knowledge of English is highly valuable.
• Ability to work on his/her own and as part of a team.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Customer service oriented.
• Focus on detail.

Responsibilities

• Elaboration, conservation and organization of the mise-en-place for each of the services, minimizing product losses.
• Guarantee the presentation, quantity and quality of each dish of the service, based on the established standards.
• Check and control the proper storage of products, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality (FIFO).
• Reception, conservation and organization of the products of your departure.
• Maintaina clean, neat and well-organized work area.
• Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues.
• Awareness of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team.
• Follow all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines (HACCP).
