A global leader in eyewear is seeking a Legal Counsel to support product and marketing claim reviews within medical devices. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, collaborating with international teams, and providing legal guidance on contracts. Ideal candidates will have 4-5 years of experience in intellectual property law, a law degree specializing in IP and health law, strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. English fluency is required, French is a plus.

Competenze

  • At least 4-5 years in Intellectual Property international law firms or in-house IP department.
  • Solid expertise in intellectual property and advertising laws.
  • Good knowledge of medical devices regulation.
  • Experience in reviewing marketing claims, particularly in regulated advertising.

Your role

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Legal Counsel will mainly provide support regarding review of product/marketing claims and review/negotiation of marketing contracts related to medical devices, including advice, risk assessment, guidance and support in order to minimize legal risk for the business in respect of the launch of new products or new communication initiatives.


Main responsibilities:

  • Revising product and marketing claims, and provide initial risk assessments and mitigation proposals under the guidance of the Senior Legal Counsel
  • Ensure compliance of promotional materials with local and international regulations, applying internal guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate with international legal teams to implement harmonized processes and share updates. Revising and negotiating marketing contracts related to medical devices (NDA, Consultancy Agreement) for medical devices, following established templates and instructions.
  • Provide legal support to the Senior Legal Counsel on day-to-day matters, including research, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in regulatory monitoring and contribute to updating internal compliance tools.

Main requirements:

  • Experience: At least 4-5 years in Intellectual Property international law firms and/or inhouse IP department, with experience in the field of medical devices and well-known consumer goods
  • Pre-requisites: solid expertise in intellectual property and advertising laws; medical devices regulation.
  • Marketing Claims: Experience in review of marketing claims with a specific focus on regulated areas of advertising (medical claims/contracts with health care professional etc)
  • Legal Knowledge: Good knowledge of Italian and European Laws and practices
  • Contracting: Exposure to international contracting practices
  • Education: Law degree in law with specialization in Intellectual Property Law and Health Law
  • Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Able to operate at multiple levels including with business clients, external service providers and other stakeholders
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong at problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communications and negotiation skills, listening, presentation skills, ability to work and communicate in a diverse global organization
  • Personal skills : humility, proactivity, flexibility
  • Languages : English fluent; French would be a plus
