Abbott in Milan requires a Business Analyst who analyzes data, defines detailed requirements, and translates them into functional designs for AlinIQ products. The role supports on-market products post-launch and works within cross-functional teams across Global Marketing, R&D, IT, Quality, Operations, Regulatory and Business Development.

Presence in Milan four days per week is mandatory. The ideal candidate has a proven track record delivering new features in a diagnostic laboratory environment

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (read/write/speak) and strong communication.
• 2–3 years documenting requirements, writing basic reports, modeling and supporting On Market products.
• 2 years defining process workflow diagrams and functional requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Job Function This role requires an individual with a passion for analyzing data and providing insights for actionable business decisions. The Business Analyst is responsible for developing detailed requirements, analyzing customer data and identifying new opportunities for operational performance improvement, increased efficiency and workforce productivity for AlinIQ products. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success delivering new features or products, and a deep knowledge of diagnostic laboratory environment and processes. The candidate should be a critical contributor to defining the informatics products within Abbotts Core Diagnostics Division. She/he will also be responsible for supporting on-market products post-launch. For this role the presence in the Milan Office 4 days per week is mandatory.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert, define detailed requirements, analyze business needs by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitate discussions with users.
• Perform assessment of end users workflow and collect feedback during beta sites implementation and product familiarization studies.
• Translate users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.
• Translate business and operational needs into measurable non-functional requirements, ensuring solutions meet performance, security, reliability, scalability, and compliance expectations.
• Prepare detailed specifications and related documentation.
• Identify and communicate risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
• Participate in managing the scope of applications and related changes.
• Assist quality assurance with functional test case review.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements.
• Create and execute user acceptance test plans for software changes and enhancements.

Position Accountability / Scope

She/he is accountable for leading product requirements within Scrum teams. The individual will interact with project managers, product owners, and R&D leadership on project scope, timeline, risks and budget. The individual will work as part of cross-functional teams in Global Marketing, Research & Development, Information Technology, Quality, Operations, Regulatory and Business Development to deliver informatics products. Interaction with R&D, end users and other teams requires traveling.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Decision Sciences, or equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English (read/write/speak).
• At least 2-3 years of experience in documenting requirements, writing basic reports, modeling and providing oversight and support for On Market products.
• At least 2 years of experience defining process workflow diagrams, process/functional requirements and user needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of laboratory environment.
• Experience in deployment and configuration of informatics solutions for laboratory is a plus.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Project and Power Point.
• Knowledge of Jama and Atlassian suite is a plus.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing business and technology needs.
• Collaborate effectively with internal team members.
