Job summary

ABB in Lombardia, Italy, is seeking an experienced engineer to act as the focal design authority across MV/LV systems, protection, automation, and associated solutions. You will support tenders, projects and parts of projects, ensuring compliance with contract, safety and quality standards while coordinating with local units and global centers.

This hybrid role covers design, testing, installation and commissioning, with collaboration across Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Service teams in

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of MV/LV systems and design, including Protection and Control, Automation and Auxiliary systems.
• Experience with MV switchgear engineering processes in an EPC environment.
• Familiar with IEC 61850 and MODBUS, ZENON, and REx/SSC 600 protection relays.
• Understanding data center applications, hyperscale and colocation environments.
• Experience with FAT/SAT, and strong stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as focal design authority for engineering disciplines on tenders and projects.
• Provide technical support across design, testing, installation and commissioning.
• Ensure engineering outputs meet contract, safety and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with local units, Sales and Global Solutions Centers and Project Managers.
• Support tender preparation, project documentation and risk assessment.
• Share best practices and drive process improvements across sites.
