Job summary

Saipem is seeking an HSE Digital & AI Intern to join the QHSE R&D team in a position combining health, safety and environmental activities with digital innovation. The trainee will explore AI use cases, assist in data analysis, and contribute to the development of AI-powered tools.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in a related field and a strong interest in HSE and digital technologies. English and Italian fluency is expected.

• No previous professional experience required; university projects or internships related to HSE/digital transformation are a plus.
• Good command of English and Italian, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of Copilot Studio is a plus.
• Interest in HSE topics and digital innovation; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support identification and analysis of HSE processes for digital/AI solutions.
• Contribute to development and testing of AI use cases, digital tools and prompts.
• Assist in collecting and analysing HSE data; prepare reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with HSE specialists, Digital teams and stakeholders to document requirements and gather feedback.
• Support responsible AI adoption with user guidance and training materials.

Purpose of the position: As an HSE Digital & AI Intern, you will join the QHSE R&D team and support the development and adoption of digital and Artificial Intelligence solutions for Health, Safety and Environment activities.

How can you support us?

• Support the identification and analysis of HSE processes and needs that could benefit from digital and AI solutions.
• Contribute to the development and testing of AI use cases, digital tools and simple agents, including prompt design, knowledge-source preparation and output validation.
• Assist in collecting, organizing and analysing HSE data, preparing reports, presentations and concise dashboards to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with HSE specialists, Digital teams and other stakeholders to document requirements, test solutions and gather user feedback.
• Support responsible AI adoption by contributing to user guidance, training materials and awareness initiatives, with attention to data quality, privacy and human oversight.

What are we looking for?

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Digital Innovation, Management Engineering or a related field.

Background: No previous professional experience is required. University projects, thesis work, extracurricular activities or a previous internship related to HSE, digital transformation, data analysis or Artificial Intelligence will be considered an advantage.

Languages: Good command of English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Technical/IT Knowledge: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Studio is considered a plus. Basic knowledge of generative AI, prompt design, data analysis, Power BI or Power Platform is also appreciated.

What else should you know? We are looking for a curious, proactive and collaborative person with an interest in both HSE topics and digital innovation. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, clear communication and willingness to learn are essential. Any travel requirements will be limited and communicated in advance, if applicable.
