Job summary

TransPerfect in Italy seeks a Director of Business Development to lead sales of Medical Writing services, building a client network among pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO and medical device companies worldwide and closing strategic opportunities. You will develop prospects, manage complex multi-stakeholder deals, travel to industry conferences, and partner with client service teams to deliver value.

A minimum bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in Medical Writing sales are required, with a proven

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• At least 6 years of Medical Writing sales experience.
• Proven sales life cycle experience - lead generation through to business closing.
• Proven track record in achieving new business sales targets.
• Established capabilities managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop prospective clients through strategies including internet research and referrals.
• Source and close new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, and events.
• Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with clients via elite service and industry knowledge.
• Formulate sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
• Generate daily outreach to prospective clients and build a productive pipeline.
• Develop project budgets and create proposals.
• Articulate TransPerfect’s offerings and refer opportunities to specialists to close.
• Set and manage client expectations with best practices.
• Manage pricing and contractual issues.
• Travel domestically and internationally for conferences and meetings.
