Alstom in Italy is recruiting a Fleet Support Center Engineer to provide real-time technical support to train drivers and operations teams, monitor locomotives remotely, and troubleshoot faults during service.

You will collaborate with maintenance teams, prepare detailed reports, participate in root cause analysis, and support post-event investigations to improve reliability and availability of rolling stock in an international mobility projects context.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or proven railway maintenance/operation experience.
• Experience with Train Monitoring System development, validation or commissioning.
• Knowledge of business analytics tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Job Title: Fleet Support Center Engineer

Purpose of the Job:

• Provide real-time technical support to train drivers and operations teams in case of faults during service of locomotives
• Monitor locomotives systems remotely and respond promptly to operational anomalies
• Coordinate with traffic control and fleet management to manage locomoties availability and service recovery
• Provide clear and accurate instructions or guidance based on established protocols and procedures
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to railway equipment providing timely solutions and support to the off-site technical interventions
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of off-site maintenance activities, including findings and recommendations
• Analyze incidents and support post-event investigations to determine technical causes
• Collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors to support repairs and maintenance work
• Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous imp rovement initiatives
• Conduct field inspections special checks and assessments of rolling stock (locomotives)
• Review fleet failures, downtime reports and equipment histories to uncover reoccurring operation problems. As appropriate he will utilize continuous improvement tools to identify root cause and work to implement a solution helping the Reliability Growth team.

• Participates in critical task-force dedicated to troubleshooting when needed
• Defines standard rules to analyse train diagnostic data
• Defines standard sheet for troubleshooting during operational outage
• Design diagnostic algorithms in collaboration with engineering team
• Supports data analysts

Educational Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (preferably, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) or proven experience in railway maintenance and operation

Technical Knowledge / Experience

• Experience in Train Monitoring System development or validation or commissioning
• Experience at system level in Railway industries or big industrial plant (Power, naval...)
• Good knowledge of business analytics tool such as Tableau, powerBI...

Behavioural Skills / Competencies

• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure
• Experience in customer service or technical support, preferably in a transportation or railway environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in railway operations
• Data driven (makes objective decisions based on data/ facts and speaks with data)
