Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team for a high-volume European hub site. You will manage facilities, infrastructure and automated sortation equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operations on a fast-moving site.

The role suits an experienced engineering leader who operates on the shop floor and in planning meetings, reporting to senior engineering management. You will oversee budgets, vendors and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years practical engineering experience at managerial level.
• Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with automated equipment such as material handling machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
• Sound judgement and decision-making in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience in project and vendor management.
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team across facilities, conveyors, sortation systems and site services.
• Deliver preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance.
• Manage site buildings and infrastructure to support growth.
• Enforce health and safety standards and audits.
• Plan resources, rosters and staffing needs for short and medium term.
• Oversee projects and budget, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage department budget and suppliers/contractors.
• Drive continuous improvement and report to senior management.
• Collaborate with operations leaders and directors.
