CYBEX in Milano seeks a senior Materials Sourcing Lead to drive development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, and packaging for apparel collections. You will collaborate with Design and Product Development to align materials with concept and performance, manage PLM docs, and ensure compliance and quality across suppliers.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, Material Science, Product Development, or related field.
• Several years' experience in fabric/material development, sourcing, or product development in fashion/lifestyle.
• Strong knowledge of textile construction, fibers, and finishing processes.
• Experience managing fabric mills and global sourcing partners.
• Understanding of product creation calendars and critical-path management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with PLM, ERP, and material management systems.
• Knowledge of textile testing standards, compliance, and sustainability certifications.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; English fluency; additional languages a plus.

Mansioni

• Lead development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging and other material components aligned with product vision and cost goals.
• Partner with Design and Product Development to identify materials supporting concepts and performance requirements.
• Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation with accurate specs and approvals.
• Ensure fabrics, trims and materials meet performance, quality, testing, compliance and regulatory standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers, negotiating costs, lead times, MOQs and development commitments.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality, and sustainability initiatives; drive optimization.
• Manage material development timelines and critical paths across multiple product categories.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, capacity, lead times and quality.
• Support margin targets through material costing, value engineering and material selection.
• Drive sustainable material initiatives by identifying recycled, certified, organic and low-impact options.
• Act as material expert and stakeholder across Design, Product Development, Quality, PM and Operations.
• Drive continuous improvement of material development and sourcing processes with timely documentation.

Your seat to fill:

• Lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, ensuring alignment with product vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives
• Partner closely with Design and Product Development to identify and develop materials that support product concepts, performance requirements, and overall product strategy
• Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation, ensuring accurate specifications, material approvals, and readiness in line with product creation milestones
• Ensure all fabrics, trims, and material components meet required performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, fabric and trim suppliers, and innovation partners, including negotiation of costs, lead times, MOQs, and development commitments
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality performance, and sustainability initiatives while driving supplier optimization and sourcing efficiency
• Manage material development timelines and critical paths across multiple product categories, ensuring timely delivery of development samples, lab dips, strike-offs, and testing submissions
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, quality, lead times, and other critical development dependencies
• Support margin targets through material costing, value engineering, and strategic material selection while maintaining product integrity and design intent
• Drive sustainable material initiatives by identifying and implementing recycled, certified, organic, and lower-impact alternatives in line with company sustainability goals
• Act as a material expert and key stakeholder across Design, Product Development, Quality, Product Management, and Operations, supporting seasonal kick-offs, range reviews, and product milestone meetings
• Drive continuous improvement across material development and sourcing processes while ensuring material specifications, approvals, and documentation are completed in time for Go-to-Market readiness

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, Material Science, Product Development, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in fabric, material, trim development, sourcing, or product development within the fashion, sportswear, or lifestyle industry
• Strong knowledge of textile construction, fibers, yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing processes
• Experience managing fabric mills, trim suppliers, and global sourcing partners
• Understanding product creation calendars, critical path management, and apparel manufacturing processes

• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
