Job summary

Nidec Appliance, Commercial and Industrial Motors seeks an experienced EMEA Trade Compliance Manager to lead Europe-wide policy development and risk management, coordinating with Supply Chain, Legal, R&D, and Regulatory teams to embed compliant processes.

You will oversee classification, licenses, sanctions, customs, and audits, drive training, and establish dashboards to monitor performance. Fluent English and deep knowledge of EU controls are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, international trade, supply chain, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in trade compliance, customs, or regulatory affairs in Europe.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CTP, CTCM) are advantageous.
• Fluent English in speaking, writing and reading.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Europe-wide trade compliance strategy, policies and procedures.
• Advise on tariff classification, HS codes, origin rules, and duty optimization.
• Lead export controls, sanctions, license management and due diligence.
• Oversee customs compliance, documentation, valuation and origin marking.
• Design audits, controls and remediation plans; conduct internal/external audits.
• Develop training programs and promote a culture of compliance.
• Engage with customs authorities, trade associations and external consultants.
• Establish metrics and dashboards; drive digitization of processes.
