Beko Europe is seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to join our Advanced Analytics & AI team in Milan. You will work with data scientists, ML engineers, and stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions and gain exposure across the data science lifecycle.

Responsibilities include building models for classification, forecasting, and NLP tasks, exploring data, and communicating results through dashboards. You will be mentored by experienced professionals and contribute to real-world AI projects.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, CS, AI, or similar.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and ML.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts.
• Solid understanding of statistics and ML concepts.
• Interest in Generative AI and NLP.

We are looking for a motivated and curious Data Science Intern to join our Advanced Analytics & AI team in Milan.

During the internship, you will work alongside Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that support business decisions and improve operational processes. You will gain hands-on experience across the data science lifecycle, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, machine learning, Generative AI, model evaluation, and communication of results.

Your responsibilities will include

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into data science use cases.
• Collect, clean, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data from different sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and evaluate statistical and machine learning models for classification, regression, forecasting, recommendation, or anomaly detection.
• Support the development of Generative AI and Large Language Model solutions, such as:
• Information extraction and text classification.
• Document processing and summarization.
• Prompt design and structured LLM outputs.
• Create clear visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the documentation, testing, and monitoring of data science solutions.
• Work with the wider Data & Analytics team to deliver prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Good knowledge of Python for data analysis and machine learning.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts.
• Understanding of fundamental statistics and machine learning concepts.
• Interest in Generative AI, Large Language Models, and natural language processing.
• Fluency in English

Preferred skills and experiences

• Experience with machine learning or data science projects through university coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
• Familiarity with deep learning or NLP libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio, or Tableau.
• Familiarity with Git, APIs, Docker, or basic software development practices.
