Lenovo invites you to join an AI internship focused on turning ideas into practical business solutions. You will work directly with senior leaders to rapidly prototype AI, automation, and data solutions that address real business needs, gaining hands-on experience with modern AI technologies and tools.

You will build lightweight AI applications, dashboards, and productivity tools while learning to handle data, ensure security, and document solutions for future scalability.

Competenze

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience building at least one software, AI, or data-related project through coursework, personal projects, research, hackathons, open-source contributions, or internships.
• Familiarity with APIs, version-control tools such as Git, and working with data.
• Understanding of AI application concepts like prompt engineering, structured outputs, AI agents, or RAG.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage well-defined assignments independently, communicate blockers proactively, and seek guidance when needed.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Description and Requirements

Are you excited about turning AI ideas into practical business solutions? In this internship, you will work directly with senior leaders to rapidly explore, prototype, and deliver focused AI, automation, and data solutions that address real business needs. You'll gain hands-on experience with modern AI technologies while building tools that create measurable impact across the organization. This is a highly practical role focused on delivering usable solutions quickly, learning through execution, and collaborating within a small delivery pod.

What You Will Do

• Partner with senior leaders to understand business challenges, clarify requirements, and define realistic solution scopes.
• Prototype and deliver lightweight AI applications, automation tools, dashboards, scripts, and internal productivity solutions.
• Build solutions using modern AI technologies, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI-assisted development tools.
• Extract, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data to support business decision-making.
• Apply company security, confidentiality, and data-handling requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
• Iterate quickly based on stakeholder feedback and continuously improve delivered solutions.
• Create concise technical documentation, handover notes, and usage guidance to support future maintenance and scalability.
• Opportunity to collaborate with global stakeholders, with occasional meetings scheduled outside standard local business hours to support different time zones.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience building at least one software, AI, or data-related project through coursework, personal projects, research, hackathons, open-source contributions, or internships.
• Familiarity with APIs, version-control tools such as Git, and working with data.
• Understanding of AI application concepts, such as prompt engineering, structured outputs, AI agents, or RAG.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with lightweight application frameworks such as Streamlit, Gradio, Flask, FastAPI, React, or Next.js.
• Exposure to enterprise-approved LLM platforms, AI SDKs, or orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, tool calling, or agentic workflows.
• Hands‑on experience working with large datasets using standard data manipulation tool such as SQL, CSV data processing, pandas, Spark, R, PowerBI, or basic data visualization.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, Google Workspace, or related enterprise APIs.
• Familiarity with workflow-automation platforms such as Power Automate, n8n, or Retool.
• Basic understanding of cloud services, containers, application deployment, authentication, and access control.
• Experience evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, consistency, groundedness, or other quality measures.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The anticipated initial gross base salary range for this position is 29,200–39,000EURper year. This range applies to the primary job location Italyand is determined using objective, non-discriminatory and gender‑neutral criteria, including skills and relevant experience. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.

Individuals may also be eligible for variable compensation (such as bonus or commission), depending on the role. The applicable variable pay model, eligibility, and target levels will be discussed during the recruitment process.

In addition to base salary and any applicable variable compensation, Lenovo provides statutory remuneration components required by local law, as well as Lenovo's comprehensive benefits package supporting employee well-being, development, and equal opportunities.

For roles open across multiple countries, local base salary ranges may vary based on market conditions, internal frameworks, and legal requirements. The relevant local range will be transparently communicated during the initial discussions.
