Lufthansa Cargo in Rome, Italy, is seeking an experienced operations supervisor to oversee load planning and freighter handling, acting as the main contact for LCAG stakeholders and customers. You will coach teams, monitor subcontractor performance, and drive service improvements, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, English and Italian fluency, and a customer-focused mindset. German is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is expected for on-site operations.

Play a vital role in ensuring smooth cargo and mail operations. Oversee handling processes, coach teams, and serve as the key contact for customers and partners. If you’re ready to lead, solve challenges, and help deliver excellence every day, we want you on our team!

Tasks

What you'll do:

• Ensure efficient and safe load planning
• Oversee smooth freighter handling
• Act as a key contact for LCAG stakeholders and customers
• Supervise timely airmail handling
• Lead service recovery when challenges arise
• Support operational excellence through invoice checks
• Hold regular meetings with GHA to review and enhance service performance
• Monitor subcontractor performance, report deviations, and initiate corrective actions
• Maintain and analyze performance data
• Act as GHA contact for irregularities, escalation, and emergencies
• Ensure strict compliance with safety and security procedures
• Make operational decisions when needed or in supervisor’s absence
• Supervise, coach, and develop GHA and LCAG staff, conducting spot checks
• Optimize staffing, prepare schedules, authorize overtime
• Provide regular feedback to management and implement operational improvements

Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Logistics/airfreight experience desirable
• Fluent in English & Italian (German a plus!)
• CHM/GOM qualification
• Computer skills (MS Office)
