Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to shape and deliver strategies for using AWS services in strategic Italian accounts. You will own technical engagements, develop expertise in AWS technologies, and guide developers and architects in building on the AWS platform.

The role emphasizes customer-facing excellence, structured problem-solving, and the ability to articulate business, product, and technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Extensive design/implementation/consulting/devops experience with distributed applications.
• Extensive experience in infrastructure or software architecture, with knowledge in databases and networking.
• Experience in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture for technology/software sales.
• Ability to travel, including internationally.
• Fluency in Italian and English is essential; knowledge of other European languages is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, across internal and external organizations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to design solutions for customers, drive AWS adoption and revenue.
• Be an AWS evangelist. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS.
• Establish credibility and build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable cloud adoption.
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success in building or migrating applications on AWS.
• Conduct deep-dive hands-on education sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, etc.
• Present sessions at AWS and industry conferences.
• Technical liaison between customers, service engineering and support teams.
• Serve as a key member of the sales team in helping ensure customer success in building applications on AWS.
• Scope each customer engagement with clear objectives and success criteria.
• Own each engagement and ensure timely value delivery.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS SA community.
