Dr. Schär is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function and drive process development in Italy. You will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger, ensuring compliance with Italian standards and IFRS where relevant.

You will lead the accounting team, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and support digitalization and optimization projects across the function.

Competenze

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent is advantageous.
• Several years of accounting experience including AP/AR and GL.
• Experience with ERP systems (BC/SAP) and tax/compliance knowledge.

Mansioni

• Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and manage annual financial statements.
• Lead and develop the accounting team and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements and digitalization initiatives.
• Support funding programs and grants evaluation.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
• Strong knowledge of the relevant Italian accounting principles; knowledge of IFRS is considered an advantage
• Ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Experience in the preparation and management of annual financial statements
• Managing and continuously improving accounting processes and structures
• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing more efficient workflows, digitalization initiatives, and optimization projects within accounting
• Supporting change and transformation processes
• Proactive identification and evaluation of funding programs and grants
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
• Providing professional leadership and development of the accounting team

Your Profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification is an advantage
• Several years of professional experience in accounting, with solid expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
• Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and tax requirements
• Experience in audit firms or external auditing companies is an advantage
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally Business Central and/or SAP
• Leadership experience combined with excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in process optimization, digitalization, and change management
• Hands-on mentality, strategic mindset, and a high level of personal responsibility
• Excellent German and/or Italian as well as English language skills

In accordance with EU Directive 2023/970 on pay transparency, we indicate a starting salary of EUR 50,000 gross per year for this position. Depending on the candidate's professional experience, qualifications, skills, and the scope of responsibilities required, the final compensation package may exceed this amount.
