Job summary

Lexroom is building an AI-powered legal work platform. We are bringing Italian accounting in-house and preparing for our first audit, hiring an Accountant to build the accounting engine behind our Finance team.

You will report to the Finance lead and own reliable monthly numbers using one of Italy's first AI-first accounting platforms. You will bring Italian accounting in-house from January, close monthly within 10 business days, set up our Light platform, ensure data integrity, and push

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a Big Four firm, startup or scale‑up.
• Experience contributing to monthly closes and reconciliations under tight deadlines.
• Sharp eye for errors and a habit of checking numbers before anyone asks.
• Curious about how software and AI can remove manual work.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Milan; fluent in English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Accounting Internalization: bring Italian accounting in-house from January, starting with a December dry run with external accountants.
• Monthly Close: own tasks to achieve monthly close within 10 business days (invoice registration, bank reconciliations, pre-close checks).
• AI-First Accounting Tooling: set up the Light platform, ensure data integrity and push automation further.
• Invoicing Control: ensure every deal is invoiced and invoices are checked and recorded, increasing automation share.
• Audit Readiness & International Entities: keep books audit-ready and support setup with local accountants across European entities.

The Role

As we bring accounting in-house and prepare for our first audit, we are looking for an Accountant to build the accounting engine behind our Finance team. You'll report to our Finance lead and own the process that gets us reliable numbers every month, working with one of the first AI-first accounting platforms adopted in Italy.

Your key responsibilities

• Accounting Internalization: Bring Italian accounting in-house from January, starting with a dry run in December and working with our external accountants through the transition.

• Monthly Close: Own the tasks that get us to a monthly close within 10 business days: invoice registration, bank reconciliations, and pre-close checks.

• AI-First Accounting Tooling: Set up our accounting platform (Light), make sure what goes in and what comes out is right, and push automation further every month.

• Invoicing Control: Make sure every deal is invoiced and every invoice is checked and recorded, increasing the share of invoicing that runs automatically.

• Audit Readiness & International Entities: Keep the books audit-ready and support the accounting setup with local accountants across our European entities.

What we're looking for

• Accounting Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in accounting, ideally in a Big Four firm or in a startup or scale-up.

• Monthly Close: Direct experience contributing to monthly closes and reconciliations on tight deadlines.

• Control Mindset: A sharp eye for errors and the habit of checking the numbers before anyone asks.

• Builder & Automation Mindset: You build processes rather than just follow them, and you're curious about how software and AI can remove manual work.

• Location & Language: Based in or willing to relocate to Milan (hybrid model). Fluent in English and Italian.
