Job summary

Seabird Logisolutions in India’s Tamil Nadu region seeks an experienced Yard Manager to oversee end-to-end yard operations, ensuring efficient vehicle movements and optimal space utilization. You will lead a multi-shift team, implement SOPs, monitor KPIs, and coordinate with customers, transporters, and internal teams to prevent bottlenecks.

The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics or supply chain, with hands-on experience in large yards, vehicle movements, and ERP/WMS systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate or diploma in logistics, supply chain, operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience in yard management and large-yard operations is desirable.
• Strong analytical, planning and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end yard operations including vehicle and material movement, parking, staging and dispatch.
• Ensure optimal yard utilization and space management through planning and vehicle positioning.
• Plan and control inbound and outbound vehicle movements to prevent congestion and delays.
• Monitor yard inventory, vehicle/material status, and reconcile daily.
• Coordinate with customers, transporters, security, warehouse, production and operations teams for smooth movement.
• Develop and implement SOPs, process controls and yard management systems.
• Monitor turnaround time, vehicle dwell time, productivity and KPIs.
• Manage manpower deployment, shifts and performance of the yard team.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, safety, 5S, security and customer requirements.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor transporter performance and coordinate timely vehicle placement and movement.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS and performance reports for management and customers.
• Handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Kaizen, 5S and technology-based yard management solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 812 years of experience in Yard Management, Logistics, 3PL, Transportation, or Automobile operations.
• Strong experience in managinglarge yards and high-volume vehicle/material movements.
• Good knowledge ofyard planning, fleet/vehicle movement, inventory control, and logistics operations.
• Experience in handling large teams and multiple shifts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency inMS Excel, MIS, and ERP/WMS/TMS/Yard Management Systems.
• Willingness to work in shifts and manage 247 operations, where required.Role & responsibilities
