Job summary

DP World Chennai is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to drive peak efficiency across multi‑shift operations. You will determine handling and storage requirements, optimize equipment usage, manage inventory and Gate In/Out processes, and uphold HSE standards in every task.

You will supervise large teams, plan capacity, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure accuracy of data in WMS while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in large warehouses.
• Experience with multiple clients/Cargo/SKUs.
• Proficient with WMS and technology-based putaway & picking.
• Experience handling blue-collar manpower.
• Strong analytical skills for space optimisation and process efficiency.
• Proven track record of cost optimisation and productivity improvements.
• Familiar with coordinating with Transport/HR/IR teams.
• Good MS Office and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse/yard operations including quality assurance and inventory control.
• Train and manage warehouse team to meet short- and long-term goals.
• Review workflow, manpower and space requirements and optimize layouts.
• Manage shift roster and attendance for manpower planning.
• Oversee workload leveling and labour productivity.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose/Objective

Responsible for ensuring the warehouse operates at peak efficiency in multi shift Operation, by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, Gate In/Out processes, TAT Adherence, OTR and OTD in shipping with customer satisfaction. Focusing HSE in each Operational Tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the warehouse/ yard operations, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
• Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
• Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
• M anaging Shift roster Keeping track of Shift Attendance and effective Manpower Planning.
• W ork Load Levelling and Lobor Productivity
• Manpower Productivity and Adherence on Inbound / Outbound TAT
• Understanding the Multi customer KPI’s and SLA’s and ensuring the Deliverables to Meet the same.
• Ensuring the Inventory Controls including cycle count, Perpetual Inventory and Maintaining with Zero Inventory Variance and coordinating for Internal and External Stock audit for with Zero Non-compliance.
• Ensuring timely updating of Operating Systems (WMS etc.)
• Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the customer and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
• Meet regularly with operations leads to review, analyzing, and developing actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
• Ensuring timely data captures all the activities taking place in WH in shift.
• Coordination with different departments for timely completion of tasks assigned
• Ensuring the Documents Management and Responding and supporting in Audits.

Qualifications & Competencies

Skills and Competencies

• 8 -12 years of experience of handling Large size warehouses. (1.5 Lakh Sq ft Plus)
• Proven track record of Managing warehouses with multiple clients/Cargo /Products/SKUs
• Well versed with Modern Warehousing Practices- WMS (Homegrown or Oracle/SAP etc. Based), Technology based Putaway & Picking
• Experience of Handling Blue collard Manpower
• Hands on experience of Picking/Packing activities
• Analytical skills for Space optimisation, Process streamlining
• Proven track record of cost optimisation, bringing efficiency into system.
• Experience of coordinating with supporting departments like Transport, HR/IR etc
• Proven track record of managing cargo of high-performance organizations similar like- FMCG. Telecom, Electronics, E-Commerce, 3PLs, etc
• Good knowledge of MS Office/Emails is expected
• Good written and oral communication skills are needed.
