Job summary

Interex Arch Designs in Mumbai seeks an experienced Purchase/Procurement professional to manage end-to-end purchasing for interior design and turnkey projects. You will source a wide range of materials, negotiate with vendors and prepare POs to meet project needs.

Role requires strong Excel and ERP skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and a focus on cost savings while coordinating with design, projects, site and accounts teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• 57 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in Interior Design, Construction or Turnkey Projects.
• Strong knowledge of interior materials and suppliers.
• Excellent vendor negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Good understanding of purchase orders, quotations, invoices and payment terms.
• Ability to compare quotations and prepare cost comparisons.
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic ERP/purchasing software.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and urgent requirements.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and coordinate with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end purchasing for interior design and turnkey projects.
• Source materials such as plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, glass, tiles, marble, electrical items, plumbing materials, furniture, lighting, paint, fabric, etc.
• Identify and develop reliable vendors, suppliers and contractors.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices and negotiate rates, payment terms and delivery timelines.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) based on project requirements.
• Coordinate with Design, Projects, Site and Accounts teams to understand material requirements.
• Ensure materials are purchased according to approved specifications, designs and quality standards.
• Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials at project sites.
• Follow up with vendors regarding pending orders, deliveries, replacements and quality issues.
• Maintain proper records of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, vendor details and material rates.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings and competitive pricing.
• Develop alternative vendors for important materials to avoid delays.
• Coordinate with the site team for material inspection and quantity verification.
• Handle material returns, replacements and damaged/incorrect supplies.
• Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for better rates.
• Coordinate with Accounts for vendor payments, invoices and outstanding amounts.
• Maintain a database of approved vendors and regularly evaluate their price, quality and delivery performance.
• Ensure purchases are made within the approved project budget.
• Support the Project Manager in resolving material-related issues and urgent requirements.
