Role & responsibilities
We are looking for an Associate Procurement to support our procurement and project teams in managing project costing, vendor evaluation, billing validation, and cost control.
The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in retail, interior fit-outs, construction, or project procurement, with strong analytical and commercial skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Costing & Estimation
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and detailed cost estimates for retail, interior fit-out, and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct rate analysis and prepare detailed cost breakups.
- Develop and maintain cost benchmarks using market trends and historical project data.
- Support project teams in budgeting and forecasting.
2. Vendor Evaluation & Billing
- Evaluate vendor quotations against market benchmarks and project budgets.
- Validate contractor and vendor bills, including RA (Running Account) bills and certifications.
- Verify quantities, rates, and billing details before approval.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, scope, and commercial terms.
3. Cost Control & Value Engineering
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining quality, timelines, and design intent.
- Support value engineering through alternate materials, methods, and sourcing strategies.
- Monitor project budgets and track budget vs. actual costs.
- Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
4. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain historical costing databases by store, project, square footage, and project element.
- Prepare periodic cost analysis and procurement reports for management.
- Maintain proper documentation of estimates, quotations, bills, and project costs.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in procurement, costing, retail interiors, fit-outs, construction, or project procurement.
- Strong understanding of BOQs, cost estimation, rate analysis, vendor quotations, and billing.
- Good analytical, negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with project cost data.
