Job summary

Bangalore South Lions Club invites applications for a BSc OT Technician to join our Operation Theatre team. The role involves preparing the OT before and after surgeries, arranging instruments and consumables, and assisting doctors, nurses and OT technicians during ophthalmic procedures.

You will ensure sterilization, maintain hygiene and infection-control standards, check expiry dates, document OT records, and report equipment issues.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the BSc OT Technician course.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operation Theatre before and after surgeries.
• Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, consumables, and other required materials.
• Assist doctors, nurses, and OT technicians during ophthalmic procedures.
• Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments.
• Maintain OT cleanliness, hygiene, and infection-control standards.
• Check availability and expiry dates of OT medicines and consumables.
• Assist in receiving, transferring, and positioning patients in the OT.
• Maintain proper documentation and OT records.
• Handle instruments and equipment carefully and report any malfunction immediately.
• Follow biomedical waste segregation and disposal procedures.
• Assist with counting and checking instruments, gauze, and other surgical materials.
• Ensure all OT protocols and safety procedures are followed.
• Support the OT team in maintaining smooth workflow and patient safety.
• Perform other duties assigned by the OT In-charge/Supervisor.
