Responsibilities

• Prepare operation theatre before scheduled and emergency surgical procedures.
• Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, consumables, linen, and sterile supplies.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and OT team during procedures.
• Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and aseptic practices in OT areas.
• Check OT tables, lights, suction machines, cautery, monitors, and other equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of OT before and after procedures.
• Support patient shifting, positioning, and preparation as per surgical requirement.
• Handle surgical instruments carefully and ensure proper counting and handover.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterile instrument sets and OT material requirements.
• Maintain OT registers, procedure records, equipment logs, and checklist documentation.
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols.
• Report equipment faults, stock shortages, or safety issues to seniors immediately.
• Support emergency OT preparation when required.
• Maintain discipline, confidentiality, and professional behaviour in OT.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operation theatre support services.
