- Prepare and maintain the operation theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgeries.
- Arrange and pass instruments to surgeons during procedures.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques at all times.
- Check functionality of OT equipment, lights, monitors, and anesthesia machines.
- Ensure availability of required surgical materials and consumables.
- Assist in positioning and shifting patients safely in the OT.
- Monitor and maintain OT hygiene and infection control standards.
- Handle biomedical waste disposal as per guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of surgical instruments and OT supplies.
- Coordinate with CSSD for instrument sterilization and availability.
- Ensure proper documentation of OT procedures and records.
- Assist in emergency procedures and handle critical situations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with NABH and hospital protocols.
- Maintain equipment logs and report any malfunction immediately.
- Support anesthesia team during induction and recovery processes.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of surgical specimens.
- Maintain discipline, professionalism, and teamwork in the OT environment.
- Work in shifts, including emergency and on‑call duties.
- Assist in cleaning and turnover of OT between surgeries.
- Follow all safety protocols and use PPE appropriately.
- Coordinate with other departments for smooth surgical workflow.
- Participate in training and skill development programs.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures.
