The OT Technician will be responsible for preparing the operation theatre, assisting surgeons and anesthetists during procedures, handling surgical instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment. - Prepare and maintain the operation theatre for various surgical procedures.
- Arrange and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
- Check and ensure proper functioning of OT equipment before procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery including positioning and basic pre‑operative support.
- Provide intraoperative technical support and handle surgical instruments.
- Maintain inventory of OT supplies and ensure availability at all times.
- Handle and dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital protocols.
- Clean and disinfect OT after each procedure.
- Assist in emergency surgeries and respond promptly to urgent requirements.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunction or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of OT procedures and equipment usage.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with different departments for smooth surgical workflow.
- Support post‑operative activities including shifting patients to recovery.
- Participate in training programs and skill development activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH standards.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and professionalism in the OT.
- Perform additional duties assigned by OT Incharge or hospital management.
